GSD's Regional Information and Cropping Hub is a website that brings together all available information to assist producers to understand the complexity of developing cropping in the Gulf region.
The website was developed in 2022 as Stage 1 of the ‘Developing grass lands in the Gulf country’ project.
In 2024-25 and 2025-26, GSD delivered Stage 2 of the project to expand the website into a Regional Information and Cropping Hub to include additional resources such as a water trading simulator, cropping options, Government and regional resources, and a chat platform.
Both Stage 1 and 2 of this project was funded by the Queensland Government through the Department of State Development, Infrastructure and Planning’s North West Queensland Economic Development Strategy Implementation Plan 2019-2025 and the Department of Primary Industries to support long-term sustainable growth in North West Queensland.
GSD sincerely thanks our project partners Verterra Ecological Services and Water Ledger Australia.
This cropping website is now operational and is being maintained by GSD.
This site will become the independent premier website for information, resources, extension and knowledge sharing, in the North West region for cropping and development of new and existing country.

Regions Represented
GSD strives to represent all people, businesses, corporations in the Gulf Region, lobbying for greater funding and support from higher government institutions.
We also work closely with other LGAs surrounding the Gulf Savannah region to leverage opportunities, strengthen our regional economic development approaches, and develop joint initiatives.
